Reflection Zone Inputs

Reflector Height

  • Enter a station name (4 characters) or latitude/longitude and ellipsoidal height. If your station name is not in my database, you should get a warning.
  • If you type in sc02, you'll see a tailored example, i.e. I chose the azimuths and elevation angles.
  • You can designate your reflector height (RH) in meters or you can use the mean sea level value associated with your station coordinates (which will be calculated for you).
  • You can set your own elevation angles from values between 2 and 45 degrees (I believe).
  • You can set azimuth limits that cross north, i.e., -45 to 45.
  • These Fresnel zones are for GPS L1. If there is interest, I can add other frequencies and constellations. However, that information is already provided in gnssrefl.
  • I do not know how to save cookies - so the inputs on the left side are zeroed out each time. Note that the inputs the web app needs are in your browser - so if you want to change something small and don't want to retype your coordinates, you can probably make that change there. If you know how to save cookies in python/Flask, please send me a working example.
  • if you know how to add a legend in javascript, please send me a working example.
